Lads Motors – Salvage Inspection Terms & Conditions updated 09/19/2025

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern all salvage inspection services provided by Lads Motors LLC (“Company”). By clicking “I Agree” and submitting documents through this website, you (“Customer”) acknowledge and agree to be legally bound as follows:

1. Scope of Services

  • Lads Motors will provide salvage inspection services, which may include:

    • Review of documents and receipts.

    • Mechanic inspection of the vehicle.

    • Preparation and submission of inspection paperwork (including TR-13A).

  • Services are limited to inspection and document handling only. Lads Motors does not provide title services, ownership guarantees, or post-inspection support unless separately agreed in writing.

  • Passing a Lads Motors inspection does not guarantee approval by the Michigan Secretary of State (“SOS”). Final approval is at the discretion of the SOS.

2. Deposits, Payments & Fees

  • A $300 deposit is required to schedule an appointment.

    • Attended appointment: deposit applies toward service fees.

    • Missed or canceled appointment: deposit becomes a non-refundable cancellation fee.

  • Fee Schedule (subject to change at any time):

    • Salvage Vehicle Inspection (State of Michigan): up to $100.00

    • Mechanic Inspection: $100.00 (variable up to $500.00 depending on repair requirements)

    • Paperwork Processing: $100.00

    • Engine/Transmission Replacement Add-On: $100.00

    • Hoist Fee: $40.00

    • Recreational Trailer: $100.00

    • Motorcycle: $200.00 (may be unavailable)

    • Semi-Truck: $100.00

    • Failed Inspection Recheck Fee: $300.00 (applies regardless of pass/fail)

    • Reinspection Admin Fee: $100.00 paperwork fee

    • Copy Request After Inspection Date: $50.00 lookup fee per request

  • Refund Policy:

    • All deposits and fees are non-refundable once services begin.

    • Refunds will not be issued for failed inspections, rejected paperwork, SOS denials, Customer delays, or service refusal.

  • Chargeback Policy:

    • Customer agrees not to dispute charges or initiate chargebacks.

    • If a chargeback is attempted, Customer remains liable for all fees plus $250 administrative penalty, collection costs, and reasonable attorney’s fees.

  • Late Fees: Any unpaid balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month (18% annually) until paid.

3. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customer is solely responsible for:

    • Providing accurate, original documents (title, receipts, invoices). Photocopies may be rejected.

    • Submitting required documents within 30 days of inspection request.

    • Ensuring the vehicle is in safe, operable condition for inspection.

    • Paying all inspection fees in full prior to release of paperwork.

  • Acting on Behalf of Others:

    • If submitting on behalf of a third party, Customer confirms they are legally authorized to act for the vehicle owner.

    • Customer assumes all liability for misrepresentation of ownership or authorization.

  • Titles:

    • Vehicle title does not need to be in the Customer’s name.

    • Customer is responsible for resolving all ownership, lien, or title disputes independently of Lads Motors.

4. Vehicle Drop-Off, Storage & Risk of Loss

  • If the Customer leaves the vehicle at Lads Motors property for inspection, Lads Motors is not responsible for any damage, theft, vandalism, weather-related harm, or loss of the vehicle while on premises.

  • Vehicles must be picked up promptly after inspection.

  • A $25.00 per day storage fee will apply beginning the day after the completion date of inspection, including weekends and holidays, until the vehicle is removed.

  • Unclaimed vehicles may be reported to local authorities or towed at the Customer’s expense.

5. Legal Terms & Liability

  • Inspection Limitations:

    • Inspection is visual and procedural only.

    • It does not cover hidden damage, future failures, or overall roadworthiness.

    • It is not equivalent to a safety certification or warranty.

  • No Warranty:

    • Lads Motors provides no warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or compliance with SOS requirements.

  • Limitation of Liability:

    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lads Motors’ total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific inspection.

    • Lads Motors is not liable for:

      • Future mechanical, electrical, or safety failures.

      • Loss of time, revenue, resale value, or opportunity.

      • Any denial, delay, or rejection by the SOS.

      • Customer negligence, missing documents, or misrepresentation.

  • Waiver of Claims:

    • Customer waives the right to bring claims against Lads Motors for damages, delays, or losses related to the inspection or handling of documents.

  • Indemnification:

    • Customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lads Motors, its employees, contractors, and agents from any claim, dispute, liability, or cost (including attorney’s fees) related to the vehicle, documents, or inspection.

  • Force Majeure:

    • Lads Motors is not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond its control (e.g., government action, labor disputes, IT failures, natural disasters).

6. Authority to Act

The Customer authorizes Lads Motors LLC to:

  • Sign and submit salvage-related forms (including TR-13A) to the Michigan SOS on their behalf.

  • Share, reproduce, or store documents as needed for compliance, recordkeeping, or state submission.

7. Consent & Communication

  • Document & Photo Use: Customer consents to Lads Motors photographing vehicles and copying/storing submitted documents for compliance, filing, and business purposes.

  • Communication: Customer authorizes Lads Motors to contact them via phone, text, or email for scheduling, inspection updates, reminders, promotions, and service notices.

  • Media Use: Customer grants Lads Motors the right to record, photograph, and publish inspection-related media (vehicle images, videos, or inspection footage) for compliance, training, and promotional purposes (including website, YouTube, and social media).

8. Right to Refuse Service

Lads Motors reserves the right to refuse or cancel service if:

  • Documents appear fraudulent.

  • Vehicle is unsafe, inoperable, or ineligible for inspection.

  • Customer fails to provide required documents or payment.

  • Lads Motors determines continuation would pose legal or business risk.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

  • Any disputes shall be heard exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Oakland County, Michigan.

  • Customer agrees to personal jurisdiction in Michigan courts.

10. Severability & Entire Agreement

  • If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

  • This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between Customer and Lads Motors and supersedes any prior oral or written agreements.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By clicking “I Agree” and submitting documents, the Customer confirms and agrees that:

  1. They have read and fully understood these Terms & Conditions.

  2. They accept that this click-through is legally binding to the same extent as a signed agreement.

  3. They waive any defenses related to electronic acceptance or contract enforceability.

  4. They assume full responsibility for all risks, obligations, and liabilities related to their vehicle and documents.

Lads Motors agrees to perform a salvage inspection on the vehicle. The customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined below and confirms that the vehicle will comply with all applicable Michigan salvage title laws and requirements.

Initial Deposit


A $300 deposit is required prior to the scheduled inspection. This deposit becomes a non-refundable cancellation fee if the appointment is missed but will be applied to the inspection fee if the customer attends.

Fees


- Salvage Vehicle Inspection: Up to $100.00 (per State of Michigan regulations)
- Mechanic Inspection: $100.00
- Paperwork: $100.00
- Additional Fees: $100 for engine or transmission replacement
- Hoist Fee: $40 for vehicles requiring a hoist
- Additional Vehicle Types:
  - Recreational Trailer: $100
  - Motorcycle: $200 (service may be unavailable)
  - Semi Truck: $100
- Failed Inspection Recheck Policy: $300 reinspection fee (applies to both failed and passed re-inspections)
- Reinspection Admin Fee: $100 paperwork fee
- Variable Mechanic Inspection Cost: Up to $500 depending on repairs required

Legal Terms


Acknowledgment of Responsibility:
The customer agrees that Lads Motors and its inspectors/mechanics are not responsible for any current or future mechanical or safety-related issues with the vehicle, even if issues are discovered during or after the inspection.

Waiver of Legal Action:
The customer waives any right to bring legal claims against Lads Motors or its agents for any loss, damages, defects, or delays related to the vehicle while in possession of Lads Motors or during the inspection process.

Indemnification:
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold Lads Motors and its employees harmless from any claims, losses, or liabilities related to the vehicle’s condition, ownership status, or handling during the inspection.

Governing Law:
This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, including all applicable Michigan salvage vehicle regulations.

Consent to Sign on Behalf:
The customer grants Lads Motors LLC, located at 1270 Rankin Dr STE B, Troy, MI 48083, the right to sign and submit documents (e.g., TR-13A) on their behalf.

Additional Terms


Photo & Documentation Consent:
The customer consents to Lads Motors taking photos and making copies of the vehicle, documents, and repairs for inspection and legal documentation purposes.

Use of Uploaded Documents:
All documents submitted to Lads Motors may be used, stored, or shared as part of the inspection and state filing process. The customer agrees that submitted documents are not protected by copyright and may be reproduced or distributed as needed for business or compliance purposes.

Use of Contact Information:
By submitting your information, you authorize Lads Motors to contact you via phone, text, or email, including for follow-ups, reminders, or promotional purposes.

Media Consent for Marketing & Education:
The customer gives Lads Motors permission to record, photograph, and publish video content of their vehicle and inspection process for use in educational or promotional content on platforms such as YouTube, social media, and the Lads Motors website.

No Guarantee of Approval:
Passing this inspection does not guarantee approval by the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS). Final determination is at the discretion of the SOS.

Timeliness Clause:
All required documents must be submitted within 30 days of the inspection request. Delays may result in additional fees or cancellation of the service.

Customer Responsibility for Accuracy:
The customer is solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all submitted documents, including invoices and title paperwork.

Right to Refuse Service:
Lads Motors reserves the right to refuse service if the vehicle or documents appear fraudulent, unsafe, or do not meet basic inspection standards.

Refund Policy:
All payments are non-refundable once services have begun, regardless of the inspection outcome or approval status.

Liability Disclaimer


Lads Motors LLC and the inspecting mechanic shall not be held liable for any future vehicle problems, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, or safety issues. The inspection is not a warranty or certification of roadworthiness.

Customer Agreement


By signing and submitting a valid government-issued ID from one of the 50 U.S. states, the customer agrees to all terms outlined above and confirms compliance with Michigan salvage law. The title does not need to be in the customer’s name.

The customer also agrees to receive communications via text message, including appointment updates, document requests, inspection results, and other service-related notifications from Lads Motors.

If the customer is submitting documents or scheduling on behalf of another individual, they confirm that they have been legally authorized by the vehicle owner to act on their behalf and sign any required paperwork as their representative.
